About
Venus prevented is a cross-creation of the office of the APA and Ludovic Fouquet. "We are interested in the tradition of Venus in art history, in the representation of these women lying naked, motionless and often painted by men. We want to question them and confront these immobile bodies with the strategies of gaze and desire that these paintings illustrate. Our explorations will be done with Laurence, whose body is prevented, is often chosified. We wish to stage the Venus and at the same time to stage Laurence and her texts as the crude presence of this prevented body. We will dive into the stories of Venus, follow the rock adventures of some of these works, recapture literary extracts, analyses (by Daniel Arasse among others) that decorate these works and their codes. Live also on stage Renaissance music, courteous songs. For the moment, it is a matter of collecting images and listening to our wish to meet us on a stage to make a picture, to defeat the obstacle."
