It all comes back to me now, it's Colin's story, a teenager who's afraid to assert his sexual orientation. His secret could, in particular, be betrayed by his admiration for his idol: Celine Dion. He is totally fascinated by his albums and his least known titles. Not only is he transcended by an almost love story with Céline, he also falls in love with Yann, a friend of his older brother. How can you live your life fully when you want to hide constantly? How can you express your feelings to someone without looking completely weird? Colin can tell his best friend, Eugénie, but the others, what will they think? In this adaptation for the stage, the young people also play their parents, to make a nod to how we caricature the words and reactions of our parents when we are a teenager and to respond to the issue of the number of characters in the work versus a number of "reasonable" performers. The story takes place in the city of Quebec, so it is natural to work on this project at La carpenter des fauves. An excerpt will be presented to you, followed by an informal discussion to gather your comments and continue writing the play. Artistic approach: Deeply concerned about the issues facing the 2SLGBTQIA+ community, Luka Provost, artistic director of grain & beauty theatre; explores, in its creative processes, the boundary between rationality and sensation. This exploration takes the form of going back and forth between literary writing and stage work, in order to avoid an approach to writing that relies exclusively on the intellect. The artistic approach reaffirms a mysterious intelligence, specific to the body moving in space. By addressing complex issues, we hope to offer a personal and sensitive reflection based on a textual matter rooted in reality. The collective's first creation, La sororité, will be broadcast in Montreal from June 10 to 21, and elsewhere in the fall of 2026.
