About

Soul Wave explores what memory generates in a variety of gestures. The project seeks to understand what the brain expresses through the bonds it weaves with memories that are sometimes tangible, sometimes imaginary. The work is inspired by the spiritual relationship maintained with the artist's maternal grandmother. She died of cancer two years before she was born and could not share moments of life with her. However, his mother passed on his education and many memories to him. The encounter was then made through dreams and gene experience. The grandmother is embodied under the symbolic figure of the Orca — an animal associated with the matriarchal societies, which reflects both a filiation and a fear of the seabed and its mysteries. Soul-shaped wave unfolds in a soft yet striking aesthetic, carried by a dense, expressive and instinctive gesture.
