Agathe Legendre has created a series of canvases that are abstract and colorful universes that revolve around the theme of myths. For her, they are marked by a deep organic character. Their stories contain a movement, blur and chaos that fascinate her. The imperfect and emotional characters, fortuitous events and sublime landscapes embody infinite sources of imagery of abstract contemplation. It thus gives itself to the free and unpredictable interpretation of the subjective auras projected by certain protagonists and mythological places. The chromatic ranges, the assumed textures and the pearly or iridescent finishes that capture the light channel this process of materialization of the atmospheres that make it feel different myths. The result is canvases that take shape through the decorative, ornamental and even artisanal aspect, almost like tapestries (textiles). The artist proceeds with the intuitive application of acrylic paint in several layers. Through a rhythmic gesture, she uses spatulas, guenillas, sponges and her hands.
