Our mission

Our mission is to support multidisciplinary and boundary-defying creation, making it a space for connection, participation and social transformation for artists, audiences and communities. It centres on Les Fauves’ three mandates: producing stage works, from research to touring; supporting artists through access to spaces, resources and guidance; and presenting works that invite discovery and dialogue. La Charpente des fauves brings these three mandates together in a shared creative home, where pooling resources and collaboration between artists, companies and organizations help the artistic community grow. Community engagement is equally essential: welcoming audiences, building relationships with community organizations, and enabling communities to contribute to the life of the space and the exchanges it makes possible. Our artistic direction is rooted in radical hospitality: making every welcome an act of creation, paying attention to people, and creating the conditions for everyone to find their place and feel entitled to participate in artistic life.
