About

Dressed in multiple thicknesses, Victoria Côté Peleja uses clothing as a metaphor to illustrate the accumulation of human connections and the impact of lived experiences. Through the movement and the transformation of clothing, his alter ego, ONION MAN, comes to life. Navigating between abandonment and the rebirth of oneself, it becomes a material representation of all skins – binding or inspiring – that are used to erase or assert with confidence. The clothes, which cover, reveal and metamorphose his body, influence his way of being and moving in space. Fascinated for a long time by the power to express clothes that bear a story to tell, Victoria Côté Péléja plays with her clothing layers to embody a multi-faceted identity.
