Comfort Zone is a creative project for young audiences from 4 years old, developed by L-Arrière Scène in co-production with Les Incompletes. This project is part of a long reflection on the concept of a comfort zone, envisaged not as a frozen state or an ease, but as a relational and sensitive space from which it becomes possible to move, transform and meet the other. Thinking of as a work of scenic research, our research questions the mechanisms of comfort and discomfort, the links that link us to a secure base — a place, an identity, a group or even an artistic practice — and the intimate movements that sometimes lead us to distance ourselves from it, either to protect ourselves or to challenge ourselves. These links, in turn flexible, fragile, stretchable or binding, will become concrete playwright motors, explored through the body, movement, sound, speech and objects.

Biographies
Laurence P. Lafaille Laurence P. Lafaille is an artist, director and artistic co-director of Les Incompletetes, founded in Quebec City. For more than fifteen years, she has been developing a research and creative practice rooted in the living arts, in dialogue with visual arts, installation forms and sensory practices, mainly directed at young audiences, from early childhood to adulthood. Convinced that childhood is a territory of artistic research in its own right, she designs demanding and non-educated works, where the experience of the spectator is central. She has signed, as a director, playwright or performer, numerous creations presented in Quebec and internationally, including: Edredon, WATERS, Terrier, The Stinging Mornings, Since the strike, Suddenly,Islands and Roadtrip. His work unfolds as much in the theatre as in the public space and in atypical places, and is accompanied by an important curatorial and programming practice, notably within the BIG BANG Québec festival. Located in the Portneuf region, it pursues a collaborative and contextual approach, attentive to reception modes and to the creation of sensitive aesthetic experiences, able to make community. Audrey Marchand Audrey Marchand is an actor, director, playwright and curator of exhibitions based in Quebec City. Co-founder and co-director general and artistic of Les Incompletes, she develops a multidisciplinary approach at the crossroads of living, visual, sound and media arts, carried by a sensitive work of the body, image and sensory, particularly oriented towards toddlers. She co-signed, as stage director and playwright, the shows Edredon, WATER, The Stinging Mornings, Since the strike, Suddenly, Islands and Roadtrip, and has also been interpreted in Edredon, Terrier and Suddenly, the islands. His work also includes exhibitions for children and the family, including: My house (Musée de la civilisation de Québec), as well as programming, notably as co-artistic director of the BIG BANG Québec festival. His approach is guided by the conviction that artistic experiences are privileged spaces to weave links between generations, reactivate sensitivity and nurture a poetic relationship with the world. Julie-Anne Ranger-Beauregard A graduate of the National Theatre School of Canada and the National School of Humor, she is recognized for her lively, sensitive and bold writing. His journey is distinguished by a rare balance between the young public theatre (Sous-bois, Contes pour les enfants de 1000 jours, Mémoire de Lou, La famille Pépin) and works for adults (Four girls, The strangers, The savages, The wolf's paw), always with tenderness and lucidity. A finalist of several awards (SACD, Gratien-Gélinas), she established herself as a strong voice of current Quebec dramaturgy. Jean-François Guilbault Training Comedian, dramatic author, director and award-winning creator-researcher in the professional performing arts community – Louise-LaHaye Award and Marcel Dubé Award for her play Drowning(S) (2015) written with Andréanne Joubert, and award of the Best Memoir-Creation Award by UQAM in 2020 –, Jean-François Guilbault is an important figure in the new generation of creators dedicated to young audiences. Co-founder of Samsara Theatre, he has developed advanced expertise in cultural mediation for children and adolescents. His entry into the artistic direction of L-Arrière Scene, a dramatic centre for childhood and youth in Montérégie (2021) marks the beginning of a new era inspired by innovation, curiosity and audacity. Jorie Pedneault [Narcisse] Jorie Pedneault, alias Narcisse, is an electro-pop artist from Quebec City, noted for her scenic sensuality and theatricality. Revealed to the general public by winning second place in the 2020 Francouvertes, his project merges music, performance, dance and visual arts. Inspired by the French song and animated by Queer sensitivity, Narcissus revisits Greek tragedies through intimate and subversive texts. In parallel with his musical practice, he explores sound design for the stage, notably with the theatres KATA and KILL TA PEUR. His universe disturbs standards with poetry and audacity. Josiane Bernier After completing university studies in theatre and philosophy, Josiane turned to the vocational training of L'École de danse de Québec, which she completed in 2010. Since then, she has led a successful career as a performer with several choreographers and multidisciplinary companies mainly from Quebec. In the past year, she worked mainly with Jacynthe Carrier, Geneviève Duong, Alan Lake (Factorie), Le Fils d'Adrien danse, Le Bureau de l'APA and Théâtre Rude Ingénierie. Also interested in choreographic creation, in 2018 she presented her first personal play La fille d'à niveau, broadcast by La Rotonde in Quebec City. In 2021 and 2022, she presented two co-creations alongside Nicolas Cantin in Montreal (La Chapelle – Scènes contemporains) and then with Philippe Lessard Drolet in Quebec City (Mois Multi). In 2014 and 2017, she co-directed her first two works on screen. Josiane runs several front projects. She is co-founder of Bloc.danse, a spontaneous research platform in contemporary dance and other disciplines in Quebec City. She is also a founding member and artistic collaborator of Les Incompletes. She has participated in several company projects, in which she played the roles of performer, choreographer, director, playwright, repeater, curator and cultural mediator. Josiane has performed nearly 400 performances of various professional projects in Quebec, Canada, the United States, France, Luxembourg and Mexico.
